How to capture a signer's signature in the mobile app

This guide explains how to capture a signer's signature in a mobile app. It provides step-by-step instructions on capturing the signature using a finger or stylus and saving the signature. This process is identical for both signers and any type of witness

1. Start by creating a new journal entry or opening an existing draft. Existing drafts look blue in color and have the tag of "Draft" associated with the entry, as seen in the orange rectangular box in the image

Alert: Signatures are captured on step 4 and can only be captured after you have added a signer to an entry in step 2. If you have not yet added a signer to this notary journal entry, you will not be able to capture any signatures

2. Click "Add Signature" under the name of the signer whose signature you are about to capture.

3. The orientation will automatically change to landscape for an appropriate signature capture. Use a stylus or a finger to capture the signature on the signature panel.

4. Once you are satisfied with the signature, press "Save"

5. The signature will now be associated with the correct signer. Click "Next" to continue with the rest of the journal entry creation process.

6. On the review screen, you can see all of the signatures captured and to whom they are associated. We alert you to any signers who do not have a signature associated, just in case you may have missed capturing a signature.
