Managing timezone settings for your account & notary commission profiles

Step-by-step instructions on how to update your profile timezone and your notary commission profile timezones on the Jurat Inc. platform.

There are 2 main areas in which timezone selection takes place;

  1. In your user account settings

  2. In your individual notary commission profiles

This guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to update your profile timezone and your notary commission profile timezones on the Jurat Inc. platform. It is important to have the correct timezones set to ensure accurate record-keeping. The guide also explains how to automatically populate the timezone when creating new entries and all associated alerts.

Managing your user account timezone settings

Navigate and login to https://app.juratinc.com and click "User Profile"

Click this dropdown in the "Default Timezone" section on the right and select your default timezone.

Tip: Your default timezone should be the timezone in which you reside; it is important to create this distinction because each notary commission profile can also have it's own timezone

Click "Save"

Alert: Each notary commission profile also needs to have a timezone selected, and because notaries can have multiple active commissions it is important to specify.

Managing your notary commission profile timezone settings

To select or update your notary profile commission timezone, click "Notary Commission"

Click the edit icon next to your notary commission profile

Click the timezone dropdown and select the appropriate timezone for this specific notary commission profile

Click "Update"

Tip: Your timezone is automatically populated when creating a new entry based on which notary commission profile you select. Let's take a closer look below.

Timezone selection when creating a new entry

Click "New Entry"

Click "Click to proceed" to start creating a new journal entry

Select the appropriate Commission profile from the dropdown. The timezone associated with that commission profile will automatically populate.

You can select any timezone from the available list, even if it isn't the same timezone that is associated with that specific commission profile. If the state you have entered in to the location fields does not match the state associated with your selected notary commission profile, we will alert you (as seen below). You can still proceed with creating the journal entry.

We will alert you if the state entered in the location fields does not match the state associated with the selected notary commission profile.
