What is thumbprint collection and why is it important?
Digitally capturing thumbprints allows a notary to stay compliant with state laws* or otherwise capture valuable PII (personally identifiable information) for good record keeping in your Notary eJournal. Whether it is required by law or just considered a best-practice, capturing thumbprints in your notary journal can provide valuable information in the case of an audit or if you are called in to court during a fraud investigation
*Thumbprint collection is not required in every state. Please refer to your state's notary laws to ensure you are staying compliant with all notary journal requirements. Click here for state law resources
How to enable or disable thumbprint collection on iOS or Android
To access the toggle for enabling/disabling thumbprint collection;
Open the side bar menu from the Home Screen of the app

Scroll down to "Fingerprint Collection (optional)"
