Updated release notes & change log for The Notary eJournal

Updated over a week ago

V1.7.19 & V1.7.20

Versions 1.7.19 and 1.7.20 focused on bug fixes. The primary bug that was fixed was related to the SecuGen Unity 20 Bluetooth devices that have been updated to the latest firmware. The bug caused users to experience strange scanner behavior when attempting a 2nd or 3rd thumbprint scan immediately a successful first scan

V1.7.18

Version 1.7.18 of the Notary eJournal adds a highly requested feature; signature by mark workflows. This new workflow allows you to properly capture the signer's mark along with up to 2 signature by mark witnesses.

Official release notes:

  • Support for signature by mark workflows

  • Bug fixing and performance updates

V1.7.17

Version 1.7.17 of the Notary eJournal includes enhancements and bug fixes from the previous month’s worth of user feedback and data logging. Most importantly, it fixes an iPhone 14+ issue that may have prevented users from having success when scanning an ID

Official release notes:

  • Fixed a bug that affected iPhone 14 or newer models that resulted in inconsistent ID scanning success rates

  • Bug fixing and performance updates

V1.7.11

Version 1.7.11 of the Notary eJournal includes enhancements and bug fixes from the previous month’s worth of user feedback and data logging

Official release notes:

  • Introducing a dialogue to compare differences in front/back ID scan results

  • Bug fixing and performance updates

Breakdown:

Scanned IDs with differences in front/back data

  • When an ID is scanned in our app, the front and back of the ID are both scanned. If the data encoded on the back barcode doesn’t match the data we scan from the front, we have new alerts to help guide you with next steps.

  • A difference in scan results man be due to an error when scanning, IE if you accidentally covered part of the ID while scanning in - so we recommend performing a 2nd scan in these cases.

  • Always remember; it is your job as a notary to make the final call to proceed with a notarization.

Comments:

It is important to remember that this is just a tool for you to use in the field, with the goal of helping you catch people using fraudulent IDs. There may be reasons other than it being a fraudulent ID as to why the initial scan found differences between the front and the back, and a 2nd scan is always recommended.

Many of our updates & feature enhancements come directly from user feedback, so please feel free to email us with feedback and feature requests at helpdesk@juratinc.com

V1.7.7 & V1.7.8

Version 1.7.7 & 1.7.8 of the Notary eJournal includes enhancements and bug fixes from the previous month’s worth of user feedback and data logging

Official release notes:

  • Fixing search inputs to allow showing New and Clear buttons at the same time

  • Improving the load experience on the Dashboard, and adding animations

  • Bug fixing and performance updates

Breakdown:

Clear document search fields quickly with “x”

  • Document search fields can now be quickly cleared with “x” button.

  • “New Type” still accessible in the same window, allowing you to quickly search for (and add) multiple documents to a signing, while still being able to create a “new type” for new document types

Batch addition vs individual addition for document types (backend only)

  • Previously, when adding multiple documents to a signing; once a user hit “save” after selecting all of the desired documents, the backend would individually create and categorize them.

  • This caused situations where when users would try to add a lot of documents very quickly, they may experience lag.

  • Backend fix now performs this function by the batch, and is much quicker

Comments:

V1.7.7 & 1.7.8 bring minor adjustments, and we are still working on a multitude of larger enhancements to be released soon. Many of our updates & feature enhancements come directly from user feedback, so please feel free to email us with feedback and feature requests at support@juratinc.com

V1.7.5 & V1.7.6

Version 1.7.5 & 1.7.6 of the Notary eJournal includes enhancements and bug fixes from the previous month’s worth of user feedback and data logging

Official release notes:

Updating authentication page logo. Improvements to date picker inputs, to allow clearing input values. Fixing some header icons on Android. Bug fixing and performance updates

Breakdown:

Clear date fields quickly with “x”

  • Date fields can now be easily cleared by clicking on the date field itself, and then clicking the “x” that appears in the place of the calendar icon on the right side of the date field

  • This was implemented based on user feedback, and stems from the fact that some notaries do not want to collect certain date fields, which can include the DOB (date of birth).

  • The majority of date fields are automatically input via an ID scan, as opposed to manually entering a date. Therefore, being able to quickly remove those date fields can be an important time saver

Android splash screen adjustments

  • The splash screen is what appears when you first open the app, as it loads.

  • It was brought to our attention that the splash screen would not properly load, or load with incorrect dimensions on certain Android devices.

  • Android devices come in a much larger variety of shapes and sizes than iOS devices, thus it is more difficult to push a visual change that can properly apply to all devices at once.

  • This latest version is attempting to provider greater aesthetics across more Android devices
