Overview

This article shows how to select which information fields will be populated within the app when scanning an ID, and which information fields will be omitted.

What fields do you have control over with ID scanning preferences?

The following fields are available for you to select as something that will be collected when scanning an ID or omitted.

  • ID Serial Number

  • ID Issuance Date

  • ID Expiration Date

  • Date of Birth

  • Address (Includes all address fields)

  • Issuance State

Any field that is checked will be collected and passed through to the appropriate data fields in the app. Any fields that are unchecked will be omitted

Reminder - All ID fields can be manually edited at any point before or after an ID scan. If you meant to omit a field but don't realize it until after the ID scan takes place, just delete that field manually.

Places to access ID scanning preferences

1. Main menus from the home screen of the app

From the Home Screen of the iOS or Android application, click on the Menu icon in the upper left portion of the screen. From there, click "Settings" and you'll see "ID Scanning Preferences" towards the top

2. From step 2 in the app

While creating an entry, you can access the ID scanning preferences any time you are about to scan an ID. For example, from step 2, you'll click on "Add Signer". From there, you will adding a new signer (as opposed to adding an existing signer as a client), and you'll click "Add Identification", and you'll see the ID Scanning Preferences button right below the "Scan Drivers License" button

Any changes made to your ID scanning preferences will be synced across your devices as part of your saved user settings.
